Virtual Recruitment Tips - Spring 2021
Even though the holiday season is the most wonderful time of year, we think recruitment season is a CLOSE second! We know things have been weird this year and everyone is having to make adjustments to their processes, so hopefully these tips will help put you at ease while planning for your upcoming events.
Make a Promo Video
If you have videos from before quarantine with your sisters, or even during quarantine while following proper safety guidelines, you could put together a cute video showing potential new members what life is like in your sorority! This is always a fun way to get people excited about your sisterhood and let them see the personality of your organization.
Host a Fun Event
In order to make genuine connections and get to know people on a more personal level, you have to spend time together. What better way to do that than to host a virtual event? There are several fun games you could play over a video call that would help break the ice! You could play Charades, Family Feud, Pictionary, or anything else that gets people talking and having a good time. You could also have a virtual ice cream social (everyone buys a pint and tunes in), a virtual spa night (candles and face masks), or a virtual show and tell (everyone brings one thing that’s special to them and tells why).
Have a Theme
Sororities are known for always having a great theme, this could carry into virtual recruitment as well! All sisters could dress in a certain theme which would show potential new members how much fun greek life can be!
Popular themes for 2021 include:
- “Pink Out” (any color - monochrome clothing, wigs, sunglasses, makeup)
- “Throwback” (hippies/woodstock, rock n’ roll, 80’s barbie, 90’s cartoons)
- “Space Cowboy/Alien” (cowboy hats, glitter, metallic colors, boots)
- “NFL Draft” (jerseys, tennis shoes, hats, footballs)
- “On Fire” (flame lettering, orange makeup and accessories, leather)
- “Jungle” (animal print)
- “Wild West” (cow print, cowboy hats, fringe, boots)
- “Iced Out” (blue, white, silver, metallic clothes, makeup)
- “Sweet Life” (candy, pinks, blues, pastels)
- Music Festival (coachella, stagecoach, astroworld, bonnaroo)
Design Merchandise
Whatever theme you decide to use definitely needs merch to go with it. Our designers have a ton of experience making recruitment/bid day apparel. Here are a few examples of some fun designs we have done for recruitment and bid day in the past!
